The loons are back again on Golden Pond and so are Norman and Ethel Thayer. Their daughter is coming to Norman's birthday and she's bringing her new boyfriend Bill Ray to Golden Pond to meet her parents. Billy Ray's 14 year old son comes along and the troubled child is left with the elderly Thayers as his father and Chelsea take off for a tour of Europe. When she returns Chelsea is married and her stepson has the relationship with her father that she always wanted. Will father and daughter be able to communicate at last?
